Global IP Solutions offers a full set of audio and video codecs that are tailored to meet your VoIP communications needs. GIPS supports existing audio and video standards as well as GIPS proprietary codecs.
The audio codec suite includes wideband and narrowband codecs that produce a robust, clear sound, even under heavy packet loss. When this sound clarity is combined with GIPS NetEQ™, delay and jitter are managed to produce the highest quality VoIP conversation available. Click here for the audio codec datasheet.
The video codec suite includes high quality video codecs designed and tuned specifically for real-time video communication. The video codecs are packaged with the Multimedia Engine products and includes the H.263, MPEG-4, H.264, GIPS LSVX, GIPS LSVX-S (Scalable Video Codec), and VP7 video codecs.

iLBC is a low-bit rate, narrowband codec with high packet loss robustness. GIPS iLBC delivers speech quality better than G.729 and G.723.1. iLBC is robust to packet loss compared to other low-bit-rate codecs, operates at 13.3 kb/s (30 ms frames) and 15.2 kb/s (20 ms frames), and is well suited for dial-up connections.
The iLBC codec is standardized by IETF (RFC3951 and RFC3952) and is designated by CableLabs as a mandatory component of all voice-over-cable telephony systems.
Source code in floating point ANSI C code is provided free of charge in the IETF specification that is available from IETF or via http://www.ilbcfreeware.org/ In addition, Global IP Sound offers optimized fixed point ANSI C and DSP code implementations, as well as general iLBC expertise to adapt to platforms of choice.

iPCM-wb is a wide band codec with extreme robustness against packet loss. With better speech quality than other wideband codecs (G.722.1 and G.722.2) and superior robustness to packet loss, iPCM-wb provides better-than-PSTN quality across a wide set of networks, including the public Internet.
